   Medical Scientist


Duties and Responsibilities: Medical scientists run trial procedures on volunteer test groups or individual subjects to see how drugs interact with the patients. They work in settings like hospitals, clinics and laboratories. These conditions are usually safe, but sometimes they have to work with dangerous substances and in those cases medical scientists carefully follow all the necessary safety procedures.Design and conduct studies that investigate both human diseases and methods to prevent and treat them.Write research grant proposals and apply for funding from government agencies and private funding sources.


Salary:  The medical Scientist salary is $76,980


Education; Students planning careers as medical scientists typically pursue a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field. Undergraduate students benefit from taking a broad range of classes, including life sciences, physical sciences, and math. Students also typically take courses that develop communication and writing skills, because they must learn to write grants effectively and publish research findings. And more schooling and you will also Medical scientists primarily conduct research and typically do not need licenses or certifications. However, those who administer drugs, gene therapy, or otherwise practice medicine on patients in clinical trials or a private practice need a license to practice as a physician.


Demand of Profession:A larger and aging population, increased rates of several chronic conditions, and a growing reliance on pharmaceuticals are all factors that are expected to increase demand for medical scientists.
I don’t know if i would like to become one but it sounds cool but i don’t know yet because i will like to do more research on this health profession to see if i am interested to become one.
